Why Embalmer Use to Embalming?

By Hatty Stafford Charles,

Embalming can be a choice or requirement, depending on your Circumstances. It is a process that allows the deceased to be seen for a final time by family and loved ones which can be very helpful in the grieving process. Some people prefer the idea of delaying decay and of preservation as at the point of death – although of course this does not continue indefinitely – but usually preservation is only required up to the time of the Funeral. Embalming is also an effective way to eliminate Bacteria and Viruses and is a requirement if the deceased is to be carried across International boundaries, Some state boundaries or by Air.

Traditionally, Formaldehyde has been the standard product for use in the Embalming process. However, there are major difficulties with this. Formaldehyde takes a long time to break down which is why it is used for long-term preservation in the first place and is Highly Toxic at all stages.

In fact, it is considered to be a Carcinogen which makes it dangerous for Embalmers who often experience side-effects such as Headaches, throat problems and loss of sense of smell.

Formaldehyde is used when people wish to view the body but gives it a Firm and Waxy appearance which can look alarming and feel very strange to the touch. Once buried, Formaldehyde will slowly leach into the Soil and the Water table, affecting the Environment at large. This means that Embalming has not traditionally been an option for anyone wanting a Green or Natural burial and is problematic for anyone with even moderate environmental concerns.

Naturensbalm is different. It is a non-toxic, odourless, sustainable alternative which is safe to use and causes no long-term damage to the Environment or to Embalmers. It still eliminates Bacteria and Viruses , so Embalmers are safer using Naturensbalm at every stage. Naturensbalm rehydrates, giving a far more Natural appearance and Feel, which is of greater comfort to relatives and friends when they view or touch the deceased. Naturenbalm quickly degrades, and Embalming lasts for up to ten days which is usually more than enough time for a Funeral to take place. After this, there is no threat to the Environment and no need for lined Coffins or Burial plots so Naturensbalm can be used in Natural or Green burials. Naturensbalm is also a safer and greener option in cremation.

If you want – or need – Embalming, then it is easy to ask your Funeral director to use Naturenbalm. The process used by the Embalmer is the same one used for Formaldehyde so there will be no difficulty in changing to a safer, greener product. Naturensbalm gives the opportunity for anyone planning a Funeral to reduce their impact on the Environment in a simple, cost effective way.
